Not everyone was fortunate enough to see Jerry play. I like to think we are all fortunate that we still have the music he helped create. Regardless of what you think of the various incarnations after Jerry, I think we can all agree that they have done their part to preserve the music and pass it on to a new generation. Dead and Company is no exception. As the band is wrapping up its final shows this weekend, we take a look back at the Wrigley show and this fun version of St. Stephen.
It's hard for me to explain what American rock and roll is, but I feel like St. Stephen is a perfect example of it. This version has some nice bluesy jamming in it which pairs nicely with the summer air. The interplay between Mayer and Chimenti is as strong as ever before Mayer takes off on an exciting solo.
